Thomas, Owner
✈️ About Thomas
Aviation is a shared journey, and for him, it is all about the community it builds. Originally from Hungary, he founded the Capital City Flying Club out of a passion for making the skies more accessible to everyone. As an FAA-certificated Commercial Pilot with Multi-Engine ratings, he brings a high level of professional experience and technical knowledge to everything the club does. He is a dedicated, hard-working professional, but his primary drive is providing for his family and supporting the goals of his fellow aviators. When he is not managing fleet logistics or keeping operations running smoothly, he loves spending quality time with his family, catching up on great movies, and taking to the skies to enjoy the true freedom of flight with friends.

Alex "Switch" - Instructor, CFI/CFII, AGI/IGI
✈️ About Alex
Aviation has been my lifelong passion, ignited by my service with the U.S. Air Force’s Triple Nickel Fighter Squadron at Aviano Air Base. Today, I bridge that military foundation with civilian excellence as an FAA-certificated instructor and Professor of Aviation. I am dedicated to shaping disciplined, safety-minded aviators through a curriculum that emphasizes real-world judgment and professional integrity. As an approved instructor for Capital City Flying Club, I focus on mentoring pilots to fly with confidence—well beyond the checkride. -

Sunny - Instructor, CFI
✈️ About Sunny
From a young age, Sunny Sandhu was captivated by the precision, discipline, and high-stakes environment of military aviation. Though his path ultimately led to civilian flight instruction rather than a fighter jet cockpit, his early fascination with iconic aircraft like the F-14 and F-16 continues to fuel his work. It instilled in him a profound respect for aviation’s technical challenges, its unforgiving nature, and the immense responsibility every pilot carries.Today, Sunny's core passion lies in teaching with safety as the absolute foundation of every lesson. He thrives on guiding students through transformative milestones—from mastering their first takeoff to developing sharp decision-making skills. Drawing from military standards, Sunny ensures his students internalize a safety-first mindset through rigorous risk assessment, disciplined checklists, and thorough debriefs. Ultimately, he is committed to developing not just skilled pilots, but responsible aviators who balance the wonder of flight with unwavering prudence and professionalism.
